Program Inspector - Overview

The Program Inspector enables you to check PHP and Perl scripts for errors. Furthermore you can obtain detailed inforamtion on the PHP and Perl versions installed on your server, and display the content of the error logfile of your webspace.

Creating Access to the Program Inspector

In order to be able to start the Program Inspector, you first have to set up a user. Open your Program Inspector and click on the link Access, enter a user name of your choice (only letters and/or numbers) and define a safe password. Then click on Create, and the new user will be created within the next 10 minutes.

The link Access enables you to change a users's access data, delete a user, as well as to create a new user.

Show PHP/Perl Information

Open your Program Inspector and click either Perl Info or PHP Info to show more detailed information about each software.

Checking a Program / Script

Open your Program Inspector and click on the link Check script. Enter a user name and the corresponding password to log in with. Then, enter the path of the file to be checked or navigate to the file desired, and click on Select. Choose the scripting language, in which the file was created in (PHP or Perl). Mark the options desired and then click on Verify now.

Only files which are located in your www directory can be verified.

Security Note:

It is strongly recommended to use a safe password when working with the Program Inspector! A secure password consists of at least 8 characters containing letters (upper and lower case), and numbers (special characters are allowed as well).
For optimal security, we advise you to delete the from the Program Inspector when finished examining your files.

Displaying Error Logfile

In order to display the content of the error logfile, click on Show Error Logfile in your Program Inspector. Choose the display format and click on Display.
