FTP Manager - Overview

In the FTP Manager you can set up and manage FTP user accounts, where each FTP user has access to a certain directory on your webspace. This is particularly useful if several people work on the same webproject, or if a project is assigned to an external designer. Subdirectories can be shared for editing, the overall project however remains under the control of the webspace owner.

Adding a User

Using the link Add new user you can add a new FTP user account to the FTP Manager. Enter a user name and select a directory to which this user should have access to. Define a safe password for this user and enter it in the appropriate field. Confirm by clicking on Add.

After adding a user you can verify the shared directory in the FTP user list.

Note: In the default configuration, the new FTP user has access to the root directory and all of its subdirectories. Do not forget to navigate to the desired directory before adding the user.
