Forum - Overview

The forum is a very versatile application. You can use the forum e.g. to offer your customers a support platform, as well as to simply exchange opinions with visitors to your website.

You can completely configure the appearance of the template according to your individual needs. You can adapt the colors of your website scheme, or use your own graphic elements (buttons etc.) in a new template.

Furthermore you have full control over all user permissions. You decide which format the messages are to be in, you administer user permissions, and much more.

Forum - Installation & Summary of Features

Installing the Forum

Open your Domaintechnik Control Panel and click on the link Online-Forum. Now you are in your Forum Manager. With this tool you can install and uninstall your online forum. First click on the link Create and then enter the desired path, in order to copy the necessary files onto your webspace.

As soon as all files have been copied, click on Install to start the original setup and configure the forum. If you would like to remove the software, go to the Forum Manager and simply click on Delete and select whether or not the database should be removed as well.

Displaying the Forum

Open your Forum Manager and click on the link To the Online Forum or enter the following URL in a browser, e.g. www.yourdomain.tld/forum/
(substitute "yourdomain.tld" with your actual domain name and "forum" with the path selected during the installation).

Administration Area

Open your Forum Manager and click on the link To the Administration Area and log in as administrator.
