Email Manager - Overview
The Email Manager helps you manage all your email settings of your webspace. It gives you an overview of the number of Email accounts created, the disk space that is currently in use, and the amount of mailing lists established. You can create, edit and delete email accounts and their corresponding passwords at any given point of time. Email forwarding can be set here as well.
An integrated component of the Email Manager is the Spam Filter for the suppression of unwanted advertising emails. The Spam Filter can be found by clicking on the mailbox you would like to configure the spam filter for, under the link "Anti-Spam-Configuration".
Email Protocols
- POP3
POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol. POP3 allows an email client to download emails from the server. The POP3 protocol is simple and does not offer many features except for downloading the emails. It is designed for email clients to download all available emails, as well as to delete them from the server. - IMAP
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It shares many similar features with POP3. It, too, is a protocol that an email client can use to download email from an email server, however, IMAP includes many more features than POP3. The IMAP protocol is designed to let users keep their email on the server. IMAP requires more disk space on the server and more CPU resources than POP3, as all emails are stored on the server. - SMTP
SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. It is used when messages are delivered from an email client (such as Windows Mail) to an email server, or when email is delivered from one email server to another.

In this menu you can also set up email forwarding, autoresponders (see below), and check the settings for your email program. Setting up Email ForwardingThe name of your main email account is postmaster@yourdomain.tld (replace "yourdomain.tld" with your actual domain name). All emails sent to your domain, which are not addressed to an existing account, are, by defauld, collected in this email account. You can set up a forwarding for each individual email account. Therefore, click on the corresponding email account in the Email Manager, select an internal or external forwarding address, and click Save.
Internal Forwarding: Messages are forwarded to an email address within your domain. Mark the mailbox(es) that should receive the message.
External Forwarding: Messages are forwarded to any email address of your choice. In the designated text field enter the addresses that should receive the message(s) from this account - one address per line. Activating the AutoresponderThe autoresponder function is very suitable if you are not able to access your email account for a period of time (e.g. when travelling). If activated, all incoming messages received by this email account will be answered automatically with a text of your choice. In order to activate the autoresponder function, click on the appropriate email account in the Email Manager and mark the checkbox Autoresponder at the end of the page. Type the text which is to be sent via the autoresponder email in the corresponding text field, and confirm your new settings by clicking the Save button.
