IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol)

IMAP is an email protocol, which makes it possible to administer emails simultaneously on the server and on the local computer.

How to Set Up an IMAP Account?

IMAP accounts are supported by most email programs. You only have to select "IMAP" as account type/protocol, instead of "POP3", when setting up the email account.

All other settings are to be set the same way as when setting up a POP3 account.

Further Information on IMAP

When using IMAP, all emails are stored on the server. Therefore it can occur that, if you store too many emails, your storage limit will be exceeded.

In order to access your already read mail, you will still need an internet connection with most email clients.

IMAP Ports:
Standard: 143
TLS secured: 993
