SSL Manager - Overview
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) enables browsers and servers to transmit encrypted information. This technology is used in eCommerce very often (e.g. for the transmission of strictly confidential data, such as credit card numbers). If you have an online shop set up, the use of SSL is strongly recommended, to help you protect your own data, as well as the data of your customers.
Installing SSL
In order to activate SSL for your website, open your Domaintechnik Control Panel and click https:// SSL and then click on Install. After having installed SSL, check the SSL Manager in order to find out the URL under which your website is accessible via SSL encryption (e.g. https://hostXX.ssl-net.net/yourdomain_tld).
Please Note:
The secure URL is only available for PHP scripts. If you want to use SSL encryption in combination with other script languages, you need a seperate SSL certificate for your domain. If this is the case, you can order seperate SSL Certificates from us in your customer zone under Order optional Package in your domainlist.
