TYPO3 - Overview

TYPO3 is a free Open Source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. TYPO3's development was started by Kasper Skårhøj in 1997. It offers a very high flexibility and a lot of optional add-ons. The maintenance of a website is carried out via this system 100% webbased and can be done from anywhere without any additional software by means of a webbrowser.

Apart from functions like extensive authorization system and continuous template-based creation of sites, multilingual content and version control of publications are supported. Besides extensive documentation, there are also step-by-step video guides available, which are of great use not only for beginners, but also for those who already worked with TYPO3 before.

Important: Please note that we cannot offer a free of charge support regarding questions about TYPO3, because of the enormous range of functions of this particular product.

Installation of Typo3 CMS in the Hosting Control Panel for your homepage

Installing Typo3
Open your Domaintechnik® Control Panel, click on software module and choose Typo3. You are now within the installation wizard which helps you install or remove Typo3 for your hosting package. Choose a version and click on Next. Now enter the desired path and confirm with a click on Next to copy the files onto your hosting package.

As soon as all files are copied, you can start the configuration setup by clicking the shown link. When you are finished with the basic configuration, go back into the software module, click on Next and finish the installation by clicking Finish Wizard.

Removing Typo3
If you want to remove Typo3, position your cursor over the button Action and choose Remove. Follow the step-by-step wizard to remove the software.

Typo3 - Summary of Features

View TYPO3
Open your TYPO3 Manager and click on the link Start page, or enter the address of your domain and the path chosen at installation in a browser, e.g. www.yourdomain.tld/typo3/
(Replace "yourdomain.tld" with the actual domain and "typo3" with your installation path of TYPO3.)

Administrator Section
In order to get to the administration section (backend) of TYPO3, click on the link Administration, in your Typo3 Manager and log on with the access data provided during the installation of TYPO3.
