Joomla - Overview

Joomla, an Open Source CMS on the basis of PHP and MySQL, is characterized particularly by the very simple operation with, nevertheless, very high functionality. The maintenance of a website is carried out via this system 100% webbased and can be done from anywhere without any additional software by means of a webbrowser.

Installation of Joomla! CMS

Installing Joomla!
Open your Domaintechnik® Control Panel, click on software module and choose Joomla!. You are now within the installation wizard which helps you install or remove Joomla! for your hosting package. Choose a version and click on Next. Now enter the desired path and confirm with a click on Next to copy the files onto your hosting package.

As soon as all files are copied, you can start the configuration setup by clicking the shown link. When you are finished with the basic configuration, go back into the software module, click on Next and finish the installation by clicking Finish Wizard.

Removing Joomla! CMS
If you want to remove Joomla!, position your cursor over the button Action and choose Remove. Follow the step-by-step wizard to remove the software.

Joomla - Summary of Features

View Joomla
Open your Joomla Manager and click on the link Start page or enter the address of your domain and the path chosen during the installation process in a browser; e.g. www.yourdomain.tld/joomla/
(Replace "yourdomain.tld" with your actual domain and "joomla" with your chosen installation path for Joomla.)

Administrator Section
In order to get to the administrator section of Joomla, click on the link Administration and log on with the access data chosen during the installation of Joomla.
