bbPress Forum Hosting - Overview

bbPress is an open source forum software based on PHP and MySQL. Originally, bbPress has been created to act as a support forum for the WordPress software. For that reason the feel and looks of it are very similar to WordPress. bbPress can even be installed so it shares its user data with a running installation of WordPress. bbPress also comes with a flexible plugin interface which can be extended with further possibilities to fit your needs.

The focus of bbPress lies mainly on usability, low memory usage, easy integration, fast responses and all this at maximum security.

Installation of bbPress Forum in the Hosting Control Panel

Installing bbPress
Open your Domaintechnik Control Panel, click on the Software Module and choose bbPress. You now within the installation wizard which will help you install or remove bbPress. Choose a Version and click on Next. Now enter the desired path and confirm with a click on Next to copy the files into your webspace.

As soon as all files are copied, you can start the configuration setup by clicking the shown link. When you are finished with the basic configuration, go back into the software module, click on Next and finish the installation by clicking Finish Wizard.

Removing bbPress
When you want to remove bbPress, position your cursor over the button Action and choose Remove. Follow the step-by-step wizard to remove the software.

bbPress Forum administration and view

View bbPress
In a browser, enter the address of your domain and the installation path of bbPress e.g. yourdomain.tld/bbPress/
(yourdomain.tld has to be replaced with your real domain, bbPress has to be replaced with the installation path of bbPress.).

Administration area
To access the administration area of bbPress, go into your bbPress site and login with the access data you chose while installing bbPress, then click on Admin.
