Software - Overview
Using the Software-module you can select and installed preconfigured software packages we provide for you. Aside from content management systems (CMS), web-logs (blogs), forums and shop systems, many other useful software is available for easy installation.
This software is open source - and therefore freely available for anyone to use. All software packages are adapted to integrate flawlessly with our server environment and are constantly kept up to date, always providing the latest version. 
Software - Summary of Features
In order to install additional software to your hosting package, click on install in the Software module of your control panel. A step-by-step process will then guide you through the necessary options that need to be taken.
Step 1: Select software
Choose one of the available products to be installed to your hosting package.
Step 2: Select major version:
Normally the latest versions are available for installation. Although, for some software there are different version branches that still can be used without concerns, because they are still being updated periodically. For example there can be a version 1 and 2. In those cases we generally provide subversions for each branch. If the lifecycle for a branch ends, meaning that the software is not being updated anymore in the future, we remove the respective version from the available options after a certain transitional period.
Step 3: Select minor version
After selecting the branch or major version, you can select any minor versions for the software, if available.
Example: If you have chosen the version branch 1 in the previous step, you now have the options for installing the version 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on.
Step 4: Select location
The selected software will be installed to a directory of your choice. You can choose an existing folder using the tree menu, or add a new folder by clicking on new folder.
Step 5: Confirmation
Here you can see an overview of the options you have selected for installing the new software. If your settings are correct, you can confirm them by clicking on Next. Otherwise go back and make the desired updates by clicking Prev until you are at the appropriate step.
Step 6: Configuration
Here, some links for the actual configuration of the software, are being presented to you. Click on the respective link and follow the installation instructions of the third-party software.

Step 7: Finish
When you have finished the configuration process and the installation is completed, final steps (like removing installation directories) will be taken for you.
