AntiVirus Tool - Overview
 A free of charge virus scan is automatically available to all Domaintechnik.at webhosting customers. All incoming and outgoing emails are scanned for viruses and, if necessary, automatically cleaned. This virus killer does not have to be activated or configured manually.
Important Note:
We strongly reommend our customers to activate the optional, suspect to charges, virus scanner to be on the safe side, so that no virus infected emails will be stored in your mailbox. The chargeable virus scan is provided with an always up to date identification database of new viruses and virus signatures whereas the database of the open source solution is only sporadically updated.

Free of Charge AntiVirus Protection
The free of charge AntiVirus protection is based on an open source product with several additional adaptions and extensions made by Domaintechnik. Amongst other things it is possible to identify a virus during an SMTP-session (the transmission of the message onto our server) and to refuse the delivery with an error message. Thus many virus infected mails can already be treated at reception and unnecessary load is kept off the Mailserver.
Chargeable AntiVirus Protection
All customers, who already benefit from our AntiVirus, take advantage of a system with double security through concurrent use of different scan methods from several different companies.
Customers, who are still without any virus protection or who want to upgrade to this double security, can activate this (suspect to charges) virus scan online in the customer zone under the section "Order optional Package":

AntiVirus - Install / Uninstall
The AntiVirus security can be activated by clicking on the button AntiVirus in your Domaintechnik Control Panel (only applies to the, subject to fees, 'NOD 32' extra AntiVirus), click Yes and then confirm with Edit. AntiVirus security will be running shortly after beeing activated. You can uninstall the AntiVirus security in this menu as well. Further adjustments are not necessary.
