How Do I Setup a FTP Profile Under WS FTP LE?
In order to setup a FTP profile under WS FTP LE do the following*:
- Open WS FTP LE. The window Session Properties appears.
- In the General tab click on New.
- Enter the FTP data for the new profile. Note the following fields:
- Profile Name: arbitraty, e.g. yourdomain.com
- Host Name/Address: yourdomain.com
- User ID: yourdomain_com
- Password: yourpassword
If you want to save your password, select Save Pwd. If you share the computer with any other person we recommend, not to store the password on the computer.
- Click on Apply
- Change to the Startup tab and fill in the following fields:
- Initial Remote Site Folder: www
- Initial Local Folder: Path under which the directory of your website can be reached on your computer (e.g. c:\yourwebsitedirectory).
- User ID: yourdomain.com
- Password: yourpassword
- Click on OK to complete setup of your FTP profile.
- In future you can establish a FTP connection to your webspace under the menu entry Connect (down to the left in the main menu). Thereby your FTP data remain stored under the profile name indicated at setup. You only have to select your profile and click on Connect.
