RGB
Computer monitors use red, green and blue (RGB) light to project colours. When all three primary colours are combined at full intensity, they produce white light. Depending on the intensity of the combined red, green and blue light, many other colours can be obtained. The colour palette most commonly used on the Web consists of 216 RGB colours which are found in both the Windows and Macintosh system palettes. In webpages, the individual colours are expressed as hexadecimal values. See also: Hexadecimal
