| Resolution describes the detail of a digital image, indicating the amount of the dots or pixels that the image consists of. A digital image with a resolution of 600 pixels per inch (ppi) contains 600 dots in a one inch horizontal line. Monitor resolution is also measured in ppi, while printer resolution is measured in dots per inch (dpi) and halftone screen resolution in lines per inch (lpi).
