| A unique number assigned to every computer with a direct connection to the Internet. An IP address consists of four sets of numbers seperated by periods which can each have from one to three numbers between 0 and 255. Because it is difficult to remeber so many numbers, the IP address is also assigned a domain name. See also: Domain, DNS |
