| Hits are the individual requests answered by a server when a browser window loads a web page. Each single element on the HTML page, such as images, text, and embedded media files and the HTML page itself, is counted as a separate hit. Page views are a much better indicator for website traffic, as they count only the total wepage displayed in a browser window as one entity. |
