Our name servers are operated in an automatic failover server cluster, in order to guarantee reliable availability for your domain name.

All customers have access to our sophisticated zone editor, with which all technical needs of your domain name can be self maintained, if desired.

Webhosting at the Most Important Internet Node of Austria:

Cisco 7200 VXR router with failover cluster operation for system stability of the Domaintechnik backbone.

Our network is connected directly to the Vienna Internet Exchange (VIX), the most important Internet node in Austria, via a 100 MBit line. Additionally we have two further redundantly switched lines, connected to the high quality international fiber glass cables of interoute and LambdaNet .

Aside of our redundant international connections, we maintain the most important national, as well as international internet service provider - Direct-Connections in order to be able to offer the best possible Connection (regarding fastest possible availability, as well as high data transfer rates) to our customers.

The network and servers are monitored electronically 24/7. In case of technical problems our highly qualified personnel reacts immediately during the day, and within about one hour during the night.Dual Cisco routers, switches and branded servers are constantly operating. If one of them fails, the other will jump in as automated failover, and continue the services..

The data center has the following infrastructure for the security of your websites and data:

Used Server Hardware

Exclusive branded hardware. Server with failover cluster operation for fail-safe performance.

For webhosting we only use reliable, branded hardware. Thus we are able to employ optimal state-of-the-art equipment and an excellent service network.

Our Web space servers are equipped as follows:

  • Dual processor systems, 2x Intel® Xeon® Quadcore E5450 3.00 GHz
  • 4 hot swap SCSI high speed drives per server, RAID 5
  • 8 GB ECC DDR-RAM per server
  • Each server has two power supply units and each 2 GigaBit Fast-Ethernet Network Adapters.
  • Internet connection for each server via 2x 100MBit Fast-Ethernet.

All necessary spare parts are stored on site.
Tape backups are performed three times a week.

Domaintechnik customers have access to a tool to backup their websites and online databases. This tool, the Archive Manager (available only to Profi Server Business+ 1, or higher, customers), can be found in the Domaintechnik Control Panel.
